Qui a besoin de ciel
Theatre
From 20 to 21 March 2025
In this play, American author Naomi Wallace plays with theatrical conventions, pushing the drama to the borders of farce.
On the stage, the last members of this battered working class struggle, never giving up, in the hope of a better life. Nine actors brilliantly directed by director Tommy Milliot, whose show Médée we received in 2021, for a great lesson in fraternity, resistance and hope.
Who Needs Heaven takes place during the 1980s, in a small working-class town in Kentucky, wracked by the social injustice of American politics. The play opens with the character of Wilda Spurlock, tied to a chair. She hopes to wean herself off the medications she has been taking for years. Annette bursts in and Wilda tries to convince her that their lives could change drastically: she has discovered the secret of the boss of a very large factory who would have every interest in buying her silence.
