Château de Bellet

Château de Bellet, located at the highest point of the A.O.C.: organically grown, the wines are the result of excellent know-how and passion for this unique terroir.

It was in the 18th century that the Barons of Bellet began to plant their vines. They left their name to the Château but also to the appellation.
Today, the deconsecrated Chapel opens its doors all year round to discover our shop and tasting room where you can taste gourmet wines of character.
In addition to guided tours and tastings, you can enjoy the estate for a picnic (May 2 to September 30), a game of pétanque or a drink on the terrace with a sharing board.
Tours in French: 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. (May 2 to September 30)
Tours in English: 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., and 4 p.m. (May 2 to September 30)
Tours in fr/eng: 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 3:30 p.m. the rest of the year.
Annual closing: from 12/25 to 01/01 inclusive.

Room hire

The Bellet vineyard is probably one of the oldest in france, planted back when the Phocaeans founded Marseilles. The wine Bellet produces is now known around the world.
Louis XIV, and later President Thomas Jefferson, and nearer again to our day Jules Romain, all favoured it. It continues to enjoy a high profile, being served on the finest tables, including at the Elysée Palace. Recognition for this local wine was officialised in 1941, when Bellet was certified an « Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée ». Greatly appreciated by connoisseurs, it goes extremely well with regional culinary specialities. The vines grow in narrow terraces called « restanques » made up of stones mixed with a very pale-coloured sand (pudding stone) with a few veins of clay. such excellent conditions bring out the best and the full maturity of the grapes in harmonious red, white and rosé wines. The vineyard is currently being converted to organic production methods.
