Nice will host the first sustainable boat show: Nice Boating Tomorrow
July 22, 2024
Christian ESTROSI, Mayor of Nice and President of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, and Alain POCHON, President of Grand Pavois Organisation, have signed a collaboration agreement to organise the first Nice Boating Tomorrow, a trade show dedicated to the boating of tomorrow, to be held at Quai Infernet in the Port of Nice from Thursday 30 October to Sunday 2 November 2025.
The official announcement was made in the presence of several members of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolitan Tourist Office: Rudy SALLES, Deputy Chairman, Jean-Sébastien MARTINEZ, Managing Director and Bertrand PUISSEGUR, Convention Development Manager.
The show is in fact the result of a long-term collaboration between OTM NCA, Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur, Ville de Nice and Grand Pavois Organisation.
Nice Boating Tomorrow, which will take place after the United Nations Conference on the Oceans in June 2025, is in line with the strategy adopted by the city of Nice and its commitment to protecting and preserving the marine environment.
“Nice Boating Tomorrow”, a unique event dedicated to responsible boating
Four days dedicated to the boating of tomorrow, with exhibitors both afloat and ashore, as well as trials and demonstrations at sea. Round-table discussions, conferences, meetings, product presentations and new products will punctuate this unique event, which will also see the presence of leading figures in the maritime and environmental sectors to exchange and share ideas, with the aim of building a transition towards responsible boating.
While there are a number of events and highlights dedicated to the boating of tomorrow, there is currently no French or international event that brings together and concentrates all the know-how, ideas, innovations and solutions in the field of yachting.
The boating sector in transition
Like many other sectors, the environmental transition in the boating industry is now a priority. The marine industry is committed to reducing its ecological footprint. This transition encompasses the entire lifecycle of pleasure boats, from the design, construction and dismantling phases through to their use and maintenance, not forgetting the harbours, which are one of the essential links in this chain and must adapt to this transition.
The marine leisure sector plays an essential role in the economy of France’s coastal regions, such as the Nice Côte d’Azur metropolitan area, and must be at the forefront of this environmental transition. With 150,000 direct and indirect jobs, more than 5,000 companies, international leadership with an export rate of more than 70% of its production, and leading brands in the world nautical industry, the French nautical industry is an undeniable asset for France’s blue economy.
