The EVO organisers have chosen Nice as the venue for their next event in October 2025. The Evolution Championship Series, more commonly known as Evo, is a worldwide one-on-one combat video game event. Founded in 1996, the EVO attracts thousands of players every year. The edition that has just ended in Las Vegas (from 19 to 21 July 2024) welcomed more than 10,000 players from 63 countries.
“It is with great pride and enthusiasm that the City of Nice will be hosting the EVO (Evolution Championship Series) at the Palais des Expositions from 10 to 12 October 2025, the world’s most prestigious fighting video game tournament, which will be coming to Europe for the first time.“
Christian ESTROSI, Mayor of Nice, Deputy Chairman of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region
“Our hosting capacity and expertise in organising major events have once again been rewarded. Having hosted the LFL Days on three occasions, it’s only natural that Nice, which is committed to the development of e-sport, new technologies and digital culture, should be chosen to host EVO 2025”.
While a Japanese edition of the EVO has existed since 2017, this is the first time that a tournament in the franchise will be held on European soil. The organisers of the competition made their choice official on the final day of the 2024 edition in the United States, which brought together nearly 20,000 people over three days in Las Vegas, including more than 10,000 participants.

This competition will attract thousands of visitors to the destination and millions of spectators online, generating significant economic spin-offs for the Nice Côte d’Azur region and strengthening its position as a destination of choice for international events.
What’s more, organising EVO France in Nice in mid-October 2025 is fully in line with the strategy to position Nice as a 4-season destination, thanks in particular to its mild climate, its natural and cultural assets and the quality events on offer all year round.
