The Nice Carnival
The Côte d’Azur’s flagship winter event, one of the world’s largest Carnivals, offers a programme of unforgettable shows… Carnival parades, Illuminated parades, Flower Battles… An explosion of colours and music to discover during two weeks in February! An ephemeral artistic creation, the Nice Carnival attracts nearly a million visitors each year. It usually takes place during the second half of February.
IronMan and Marathon
Every year in June, the eyes of the sports world are riveted on Nice, the cradle of European triathlon, and its hinterland: the one and only IronMan on French territory covers the official distances of triathlon: 3.8km of swimming, 180km of cycling and 42.195km of running, that is to say 225 kilometres of cumulative races.
It is now the biggest Ironman in the world and each edition attracts 3,000 French and international athletes. A major sporting event!
In November, the Marathon des Alpes-Maritimes invites runners to a 42.195 km challenge along the Côte d’Azur coastline, between the Promenade des Anglais in Nice and the Croisette in Cannes. The Marathon Relay allows you to cover the entire course by forming one or more teams of 6 runners.
Put together your teams in your company’s colours and experience an unforgettable human and sporting adventure together. Volunteers can also get involved by joining the marathon staff. 1,300 people are mobilised throughout the course to carry out supply and supervision missions. A unique opportunity to support your favourite teams!
Nice Jazz Festival
The first jazz festival created in France in 1948, it was in 1974 that the Nice Jazz Festival acquired its true identity.
For several decades now, the greatest names in jazz have performed there in the open air and under the starry sky of the Côte d’Azur: from Louis Armstrong to Dizzy Gillespie, from Django Reinhart to Diana Krall, all the legendary artists have set the nights of previous editions alight.
Three concerts are scheduled each evening on each of the two stages. The first faces the Place Masséna where 6,000 spectators can be accommodated. The second, at the Théâtre de Verdure, offers 2,500 seats. Thirty groups perform during the five nights of programming. Each year, in July, in the heart of Nice, in the Albert 1st Gardens.
